Ich hatte mal ein relativ umfangreiches Tutorial ins Wiki geschrieben wie man Pidgin unter Linux aus den Quellen installiert. Leider ist das Wiki gerade kaputt.  :Smile

In irgendeinem Fremdrepository findet sich doch meistens die aktuelle Version, so dass man es über den Paketmanager installieren kann und nicht auf eine Kompilierung der Quellen angewiesen ist.

Getdeb. Allerdings haben die (laut #pidgin) in der Vergangenheit ein paar Fehler in ihr Paket eingebaut, so dass es i.A. nicht empfohlen dieses zu nutzen.

Also deine Lösung funktioniert ganz gut, allerdings isses 'libpurple0' welche entfernt werden muss.
Zusätzlich dazu hab ich auch noch die 'libpurple-bin' runter geschmissen.

Hatte heute früh auch das Problem mit ICQ, und hab mich dann bis grad eben geärgert wieso das mit der v2.5.5 nich funktioniert.
Hab vergessen libpurple zu updaten -.-

Nachtrag: Das 'build-dep' hab ich auch net benutzt, wäre klasse wenn mich jemand über die Zeile aufklären würde, also was die bewirkt...

Das installiert alles was die Ubuntu Maintainer zum kompilieren von Pidgin benötigt haben.
(Mit anderen Worten: alles was du brauchst, manchmal kann es aber zu weiteren Abhängigkeiten kommen, das sind dann aber meist nur 1 oder 2.)

"apt-get remove" hab ich geändert. Wink

Aaahhh, sehr praktisch, hatte vorher nur die Pidginversion aus den Repos installiert, da war das mehr oder weniger egal.
Hatte nämlich auch ganz tolle Probleme mit './configure' und hab die dann einfach mit 'disable-...' gelöst XD
'build-dep' bringt mir jetz noch 33 fehlende Abhängigkeiten, werd die mal installieren und Pidgin nochmal neu machen...

./configure ging schon schief...dir fehlt das Paket "gettext" (oder so ähnlich).

Hattest du "build-dep" gemacht? Da sollte das eigentlich mit installiert werden.
